2026 marks Fender’s 16th year paddling with Hokuloa and 9th year serving as the club’s Technique Coach (among other roles).

His passion for refining technique, fitness and equipment to create a winning edge started when he became crew chief for his drag racing father as an adolescent. Combine that with a
background in both playing & coaching competitive high school sports, competitive running and his love for paddling - and you have the perfect recipe for a sought-after technique coach.
